Details of Bus Concession available in different States of India
DELHI
Free for blind and 50% for escorts. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has been issuing free traveling passes to physically handicapped persons.
UTTAR PRADESH
Free travel facility is available to any physically handicapped person whose disability according to the certificate provided by the CMO is 40% or more in ordinary buses. One co-passenger can travel free of charge with them, the same is not applied for hearing and speech impaired.
MAHARASHTRA
State Road Transport is giving 75% concession in bus fares to blind, deaf and Orthopaedically Handicapped persons and 50% concession to their attendants.
ANDHRA PRADESH
The disabled persons are entitled to free bus journey in the city and in the suburban buses with escorts. In other buses they get 50% concession.
GUJRAT
Gujarat State Transport Corporation has given 100% concession to the blind and their escorts in state buses. Other categories of disabled are also provided 100% concession and 50% concession to their escorts.
ORISSA
Free bus travel is provided to those O.H. and Blind persons whose disability is 50% and above and 50% concession to their escorts. 50% concession is given to those OH and blind persons whose disability is 40% to 50% without escort. 2 seats are reserved for the disabled. The mentally retarded persons are given 100% concession along with an escort with 50% concession.
KARNATAKA
Free travel facility is provided to blind persons in Govt. buses.
KERALA
Free travel facility is provided to blind on bus and boat. Physically handicapped persons with 50% disability and above are eligible for 75% concession in State Buses. In private buses, 70% concession to travel upto 40 k.m. are allowed to physically handicapped persons having 50% disability or above.
MADHYA PRADESH
i. Visually impaired persons get 75% concession in fare in state level transport buses.
ii. Locomotor impaired persons get 75% concession in fare in state level transport buses, if the person is travelling alone. In case of the escort, 100 per cent concession is given to the impaired person, while there is no concession for the escort.
NAGALAND
Free bus travel facility to PH persons. Blinds with escorts also get free transport facility in State Transport Buses.
PONDICHERRY
Free bus passes are issued to all disabled persons having a minimum of 40% disability and income not exceeding Rs.30,000/- P.A. for travelling in State Government owned transport corporation buses as well as private buses plying within the union territory.
PUNJAB
Free travel concession is allowed to the blind persons in the buses of Punjab Roadways and Punjab Road Transport Corporation(PRTC) and 50% concession is allowed to attendant accompanying the blind persons. Other handicapped persons are allowed 50% concession in the fare.
RAJASTHAN
Free bus travel is provided to physically and mentally handicapped persons in Rajasthan State Roadways Corporation.
SIKKIM
Free travel facility to the blind is available in the state owned buses.
TAMILNADU
Visually handicapped persons are allowed free travel in State owned transport corporation buses from any place to any place within the district in which they reside. Mentally Retarded/Mentally ill persons are provided free travel facility with one escort. The speech and hearing disabled and locomoter disabled persons are also given free travel concession to go to schools/colleges/ workspots etc.
TRIPURA
Free bus pass for the blind and other types of disabled persons are given for the State Transport Buses.
WEST BENGAL
Free bus and tram journey facility is available to following types of physically handicapped persons
i. persons who are blind in both eyes
ii. persons whose visual impairment is 40% or above
iii. persons who are unable to move on their own because of disease of long duration or congenital defects
iv. deaf and dumb persons including students
CHANDIGARH
Free bus travel for blind and 50% concession is admissible to other categorise of Physically Handicapped persons in C.T.U. buses.
GOA
Free for disabled students in private and Government buses and 50% concession for escorts. 50% concession is available to other handicapped persons, other than students.
(Director, Social Welfare Department, Goa issue photo identity card to the handicapped for availing this facility.)
HIMACHAL AND MANIPUR
Free bus travel facility is available for the disabled persons.

I am a physically handicapped person and having permanent disability of 48%.I belongs to Lucknow U.P. & living in Chandigarh since last one year.I need to know how to get handicapped free bus pass in Chandigarh.I don’t have any residence proof of Chandigarh.Can you guide me without having any local proof of Chandigarh can I get free pass or not.I am having PH certificate issued by CMO ,Lucknow.will it work in Chandigarh or not?

Thank you for the query. Concession is available in Chandigarh for physically handicapped person. But for your case you should contact the social welfare officer in your area. Also enquire with Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU).

m an engineering student..i study in pilani n lives in jaipur..i have to travel frquentkt from pilani to jpr sometimes becoz of some exam or small training..the roadways fare is too high that sometimes it make difficult for me to travel so in any way can i get some concession or any sort of paas..?
